Kiku Matsuda is one of the most famous blade grinders in Japan.  With over forty years of experience, Kiku Matsuda has been grinding knives since he was 15 years old and is a fifth generation knife grinder.  Using the Hamaguri-Ba grinding technique, he has produced the Japanese convex edge normally only found in the classic Katana sword. 
The Subaru was Kiku Matsuda’s first folder release in 2016, the Subaru Gen2 retains the design but with enhanced action with improved bearings and a solid one-piece TC21 Titanium handle with hidden hardware pocket clip.
The Subaru G2 features a 3-3/4″ compound ground M390 steel blade with a recurved hollow ground with a Hamaguri-ba grind towards the tip of the blade. A 4-3/4″ solid TI21 Titanium one-piece handle is blue anodized for a striking presentation.
