The Daniel Defense M4A1 FSP upper receiver group utilizes the Rail Interface System(RIS II) which has been fielded by US SOCOM for SOPMOD Block II weapon systems since 2005. The M4A1 FSP utilizes the FSP RIS II with FSP cut-out.
This 2-piece, free floating rail system allows the mounting of the M203 grenade launcher without interfering with barrel harmonics. The 2-piece design also allows for partial disassembly for cleaning and uses a sturdy bolt up system.
The M4A1 uses Daniel Defense’s cold hammer forged barrel in a M4 profile, a Surefire SF3P Flash Suppressor is permanently attached to the 14.5″ barrel for 16″ overall length.
