Originally designed as a target gun and manufactured after World War II as the K-22 Masterpiece the Smith Wesson Model 17 is a medium-sized double action K-frame revolver chambered in 22 LR. It offers a 6-round capacity checkered wood grip and pinned patridge and adjustable rear sights. Though production of the Model 17 stopped in 1998 it was reintroduced in 2009 under the companys Classic line
