The MAX-9 features a striker action with a built-in trigger safety and a polymer frame for reduced weight and improved corrosion resistance. A magazine disconnect safety prevents the firearm from discharging if the magazine is removed, allowing for an extra degree of safety when clearing the firearm for cleaning or maintenance.
